Hello friends from DA!
It's impressive to realize that the last time i updated this journal was more than year and a half ago!
So many things changed in the meanwhile..

I finished my masters degree in Primatology from the University of Barcelona and moved to Morocco where i'm now working with Barbary Macaques in the Atlas Mountains.
Things are going great and i have lots of fun while working. Whenever i have a bit of free time i take photos of "my monkeys" so i decided i could submit a few where to share my new friends

I've so many things to say that i don't even know where to start.

First things first.
I just got tagged by =frostfire101 yeah!
I love answering stuff.. don't quite know why ^^

Facts

1) I have a tattoo (on my heart) and a nose piercing and i'm thinking of getting a new piercing.
2) I have a female prairie dog named Rambla (you might have seen her in my gallery)
3) When i was still a children i thought i must have been brought to earth by aliens and my parents were not my real parents
4) When i was adolescent i used to be very sadistic and watch pictures of desmembered, decapitated, desfigured people, etc, just for fun
5) I'm taking my master degree in Primatology (the study of primates)
6) I'm currently doing volunteer work in the Barcelona Zoo with a baby siamang who was rejected by her mother
7) I love playing Sims 2 because it allows me to create an entire race of aliens (see answer number 3)
8) I'm paranoid and can't be in crowed places without getting very anxious with the feeling that someone is going to try to kill me

Last but not least..

I'm now working as a volunteer in the Barcelona Zoo. I'll be taking care of a baby siamang that was rejected by her mother. I'll change diapers, give her food and play with her. Isn't this an adorable job?

Today is 27th September and my vacations officially SUCK!!!


The last months have been getting worse every day!

Classes start on the 9th October and i still down know if i'm suposed to finish my graduation this year or the next because of all the changes made by the Bologna Process.
I have no  ideia how my life will be in the next months.



In this precise moment i'm formating my computer.. again..
I dont even know how many times i've formated it in this "vacations".
I've installed and deleted so many things that i'm getting really really tired of it all..

And i dont even know what went wrong this time!!!
My router was acting stupid in the past days and yesterday it finnally colapsed so we bought a new one (a wireless one because we already talked about it and we needed it).
We connected all the wires and stuff and i put the instalation CD on my computer. Then it asks me if i wanted to install some program bla bla.. i said yes.. obviously!
After i installed i noticed that we had internet on other computers and the program didnt had anything to do with getting internet or not so i just uninstalled..
And i had no ideia i unleashed hell!!

I restart the computer and then everything went wrong from that point..
Nothing worked.. restore points didnt existed.. i lost every drivers.. i didnt had any sound.. exe's simply didnt worked at all.. my internet was gone (didnt let my configure a new one either).. and the worst part of all is that i was downloading something at a very lowwwww speed for the past 2 WEEKS (!!!) and it was already missing only 1mb (from a total of 3gb) and now i probably need to start all over again!!
And when i finnally get it my vacations will be already over!!!




At least i have one good news.. i got a tattoo. A very beautiful one actually.
I have a pic of it on my main page (on the webcam pic) but sometimes i cant see it.. don't know why..

P.S. sorry about this but i had to complain to someone.. i've going crazy..

Today (12th August) is my DeviantArt Birthday

I'm a DA member for 3 years now. Time goes by so quiclky.
In 3 years i learned so many things.. i met so many people from around the world.. i made many friends.. i helped and got help from many others..

finally i'm on vacations!

i was suposed to end the exams on the 14th but the teacher didnt showed up.. so they rescheduled for the 25th.
I lost 2 weeks of my vacations because of that


but i'm finally free to enjoy vacations.
I already read Madame Bovary from Gustave Flaubert. Beautiful book
And now i'm reading As minas de Salomão from Eça de Queiroz (a brilliant portuguese writer).

I'm going to the beach tomorrow. The weather here is great



I hope everything is ok around here. I'll try to catch up things. I have so many things here on DA to do..

I just stopped by to put a little journal.

Exams are still more then a month away but i have so many works to do and so many books to read and so many stuff to catch up that i dont have any time left to spend here on DA.

I have now soooo many deviations to see from my devwatchers and so many journal to read.. and sometimes takes me more then a week to say thanks for the 's (not many these days. my pageviews dropped like hell).


Well.. i hope you are all ok. I'll be back as soon as the exams are over and i can breath again

So Portuguese Featured Deviants will be on my journal for a month for now on untill Summer (when i get vacations and i can be more active here on DA).

Hi fellow deviants!







<sub>I'm now back from Amsterdam. I stayed there for a week (one extra day then the planed).
I was suposed to update the journal yesterday (the 1st March) but i lost the flight from Amsterdam lol.
So i just came back today.





Well.. my monitor is still not working properly. i think it was some fuse.. dont understand that much of monitors to be honest..
At least it's still working and now without the smoke lol but the image is not that great so i cant do anything that requires seeing colours and textures.. Poser is now out of question





Now combining the two previous subjects.
Since i cant use any image prog and i've just came back from Amsterdam i have some photos from the Artis Zoo in Amsterdam to upload
I cant go to any place that doesnt have a zoo.. i love to see animals and every zoo i ever visited i saw animals that i didnt knew that even existed.</sub>

Well, exams are finally and officially over

Now i really need to relax a bit.. so i'm going to Amsterdam with my boyfriend ~kozmix for 6 days

I've never visit Netherlands but its sounds really great
If anyone here already went there and want to give some advice / suggestion / tip be welcome


Regarding the "Portuguese Featured Deviant" it will be updated on the 1st March.
I though of updating yesterday (the 15th) but February has only 28 days and wouldn't be fair for the people i selected.. less days.. less views..

Today is 15th and its the day i change the featured deviants but i cant seem to find the time to browse around DA.. i'm just sooooo busy..


Tomorrow i have an oral presentation and i need to deliver an investigation project about psychopaths (very interesting actually) that needs to be perfect because its worth a lot in the final mark.
I have another two works to deliver in the next two weeks and then exams!

My exams start on the 31st January and end on Valentine's Day (14th February) so i will only be back after that..
I might stop by just to see how are things around (and because i cant help myself..) but i wont be as active as i used to be.


I hope you all understand..

Portuguese Featured Deviant - December


I started this project trying to notify as much ~pt members as possible to help me find unrecognized portuguese artists around DA.. and i had hundreds of answers in less then one day!
And that is amazing because it shows that people like the ideia and are whilling to participate and to suport this project.

The entire purpose of this project is to increase the feeling of community around pt artists and to help those artists by giving them feedback and recognition.

After writing on a file all the names of the pt members suggested to me, i come to the conclusion that only one pt artist a month wont be enough so i had to change the "rules".
Read carefully:



_{the "Featured Deviat" is still only for portuguese artists (and i'm sorry for the ones that arent)
~systematakada, who is now December's Featured Artist will stay until the end of the month because it was the original "plan" and i like to keep my word.
i will now have 3 different Featured Deviants at the same time (i'll try to choose artists from 3 different categories if possible)
Featured Deviants will change in my journal every 2 weeks (i'm sorry for not being a month but there are so many.. and i really wanted to try to divulgate as many as possible)

I'm a judge at `Bloodredsangre's contest.
The theme is "Winter Fantasy" and all types of art are permitted!  





I was finally tagged by my boyfriend, ~kozmix
(actually he tagged me 17 days ago but i wanted to wait a little bit)

So.. basically i have to write 20 things about me




<sub>1)  I study psychopedagogy.
Please dont ask me to explain what that is.. it would take ages

2) I actually "forced" my boyfriend to tag me because i love this kind of stuff and no one else tagged me

3) I've already practised swimming, horse riding, athletics (?), among others. Now i only practise kickboxing.  

4) I hate being judge.  

5) I love animals.. especially rodents and/or exotic animals.
I have a squirrel and a prarie dog (and a few dogs too).

6) I spent my chilhood in the Portuguese Air Force Base (many members of my familly worked there so my vacations were spend beetween seing dogs being trained to detect drugs and seing airplaines with refugees.. very amusing actually )

7) I registered myself here at DA because i wanted to fav and to devwatch ppl which i thought had really good works and this way was easier then to just save it on bookmarks
(and btw.. i finally understood that the more pageviews the ppl have less is the probability of them answering your comments.. which got on my nerves and i deleted them )

8) I love my country (Portugal) but if i could i would like to live somewhere else

9) I had my hair red and black last year and years before that i used red lenses (in my eyes.. of course)  

10) I have a tree on my bedroom (a pine tree )

11) I love sushi and miso soup and every friday me and my boyfriend spend almost 2h30min doing asiatic food for lunch

12) I never left Europe. I've been to Spain, England, Finland and Deutschland (as far as i remember).

13) I'm allergic to tobacco smoke  

14) All my friends have already used the word "crazy" to describe me (and not in the "rebel" way.. they mean the "very weird" way).

15) I (and almost everyone around me) think i live in a different world  

16) When i was younger (about 6/7 years) i thought i was from another planet and when i realized i wasnt i start wishing that some nice alien would come and kidnap me  

17) I dont consider myself an artist    

18) My biggest wish is to fly

19) I love being me

20) I'm also alergic to some types of chocolate but the doctors never discovered wich type so i eat all of them and just wait to see if i have a reaction (wich i dont usually have )</sub>
